Functionality

HRC Primer is a short-term release formulation of the patented and widely accepted Hydrogen Release Compound (HRC®) product. HRC Primer is a thin, water like material composed of lactic acid and glycerol polylactate. Once emplaced in the subsurface, this material is used up within a matter of weeks providing a rapid release of lactic acid and resulting in hydrogen production for the reduction of competing electron acceptors like sulfate.

HRC Primer can be used to degrade a range of chlorinated compounds including: degreasing agents (PCE, TCE, TCA and their breakdown products), carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, methylene chloride, certain pesticides/herbicides, perchlorate, nitrate, nitroaromatic explosives and dyes, chlorofluorocarbons, certain metals and radionuclides.
