Technical Guidance Document for Applying In Situ Remedial Reagents (ISRRs) Now Available
A new technical guidance document entitled: "Subsurface Injection of In Situ Remedial Reagents (ISRRs) within the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board Jurisdiction” has been developed by the In Situ Remedial Reagents Injection Working Group (ISRR Working Group). The ISRR Working Group was convened under the auspices of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board with a charter to provide specific documentation of best practices to be used when applying ISRRs and thereby minimizing impacts to the public from the use of these remedial technologies. Overall the document provides general tools and best practices for the planning, design and field implementation of in-situ remediation projects using injectable reagents.
Regenesis staff members were instrumental in drafting the initial technical document and informally serving as industry chair to incorporate input and comments from fellow members of the ISRR Working Group. Craig Sandefur, Vice President of Technical Services for Regenesis, who was responsible for drafting the initial document stated, “The document serves as a good baseline reference manual to be used during the planning and implementation of in situ remediation projects employing injectable reagents."
